We took Lucia to get her ears pierced today because she has been pointing to earrings on others and then at her own ears for the past week. She was all for it until the piercer put on plastic gloves, which Lucia has only seen when she is about to get a shot. She changed her mind and made it very clear that she did not want to do it today. Oh well. The weather here has been beautiful and we've been spending a lot of time outside enjoying it. Lucia asks to go to the zoo every day by pointing to the place on her hand where we get the stamp when we leave. We make it there at least once a week, but I think she'd like to move in. She's working on becoming her own little person. Twice she has decided to go to bed in her own bed. She's not totally grown up yet, though. The other day I asked if she was a big girl and she said "no". I asked "are you a baby?" and she said "yeah". Good to know.

Lucia turned 18 months old on the 7th. She is growing so fast! Lately, she loves to dance, draw, and run around outside. We're taking as many pictures as we can, but most come out blurry because she moves so quickly. She becomes more communicative and delightful every day.
